Before you travel to Ghana

Visa requirements

Requirements vary by nationality — confirm whether you need a visa or ETA before travelling. Invitation letters & visa support documents are provided to registered participants where required.

Yellow Fever certificate

A valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is required entering Ghana from most countries. Travel with your original; invalid certificates may cause delays or denied entry.

Passport requirements

Valid for at least six months beyond departure · sufficient blank pages for stamps · carry printed and electronic copies of key documents.

Weather

July falls within Accra's cooler season — generally pleasant conference conditions. Daytime 25–29°C, evenings 22–24°C: warm days, occasional light rain, moderate humidity, cooler evenings. Lightweight business attire is recommended, with a light jacket for air-conditioned venues.

Arriving in Accra

Kotoka International Airport is approx. 8 km from the venue. Estimated travel time to the Kempinski Hotel: 10–15 minutes.

Currency & payments

Local currency is the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS). ATMs, forex bureaus and card facilities are widely available; Visa & Mastercard accepted. Carry some local currency for incidentals.

Staying connected

Mobile networks: MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo. SIM cards available at the airport & malls. Most hotels and venues provide complimentary Wi-Fi.
